In this soothing soaring environment we'll be inspired to solve some of the mysteries of the writing life and yours in particular.
Are you challenged by one or more of the following sample issues faced by many writers?
- Great at talking about your idea or book, not so great on follow-through?
- Everybody tells you that you should write a book, but you're unsure about it?
- Preferring to write away happily in your solitary room forever and not face the marketing?
- Or are you all about the marketing but wish you had better content to market?
- Always pushing the river, efforting to make it happen, wishing it could be easier?
- Always helping everyone else out, but it seems you and your dreams get put on the back burner?
- Very proactive, doing the chasing and pitching, but it feels like agents and editors run away from you?
- Or are you afraid to approach them and pitch your idea, fearing rejection?
- Does it feel as if everyone else gets what they want, but you don't?
- Or are you great at getting really close to success, then somehow you manage to sabotage it?
- Do you get fabulous visionary ideas but get scattered and need help with the focused execution of them?
- Are you doing a great job of making a living writing articles, ad copy or nonfiction books for others, but never seem to get to that novel you'd like to write? Or that nonfiction book of your own?
- Or are you writing your fiction, guilt-ridden because you aren't paying the bills or not paying enough attention to your partner or family?
- Are you at odds with yourself, often fighting with yourself about whether to do life or writing it this way or that way?
- Are you overly sensitive and critique of your work cuts you to the core?
- Or are you super controlling and don't listen to anybody's suggestions?
- Or are you too eager to listen to everybody else's suggestions for your story, and end up bewildered?
The good news: you're not alone, join the club!
More good news: Mardeene has faced most of these issues all through her many years in the business in her own writing life and in the writing lives of her clients and has found creative solutions -- and she's had fun doing it! She has discovered many of these challenges are symptoms of our masculine or feminine sides being out of balance and not working together as they were meant to. The possibilities for fun and entertaining solutions to this age-old archetypal battle are endless. Come and enjoy this light-hearted way of problem-solving in a safe place!
In this innovative Valentine's writing program, discover how to inspire your inner feminine creative muse (with all the ideas) and your masculine powerhouse (who knows how to get the writing done and the book out into the world) to fall in love with each other and give birth (or fresh form) to your book or project!
When Mardeene plays Cupid and shows you how to get the feminine and masculine sides of yourself to fall in love and unite, there will be no stopping you!
"Mardeene is a master at reading souls and pulling people's stories out of their deepest parts and then communicating their soul's message powerfully out into the world. Her brilliant insight, loving affirmation and clear advice freed me from fear and self-doubt and gave me courage to acknowledge my talent waiting to be discovered. She listens with heart, encourages from the soul, and directs with a fiery passion that energizes and inspires me to do my very best."
-- Phyllis Carrera, former Fortune 100 leader, current certified coach, speaker and organizational consultant on integration and change, author of A Journey of My Choosing;
A Mardeene retreat experience focuses on who you are as a writer from the inside out--bringing out the heart and soul of your story and who you are as creator. This value-added facet is imperative today on the new frontier in which the book by itself, though technically well-constructed, usually is not enough to make a business and the money you want. Today, "branding" and expressing who are out in the world is so important. And so much fun! And vital to know as--or even before--you write.
"Walking into the conference room on my first day of 'Write in Atlanta' June 2010 filled me with both anticipation and anxiety. My past experiences with professional writing conferences/classes had been intense and intimidating. Was I going to be able to open up this time? A new paradigm shift occurred within me and it was all because of the style, content and energy we shared there! Mardeene's wisdom and knowledge brought me into a place of power coupled with a peace of mind to let go and 'put it all on the table.' It was a life-changing experience! Thank you, Mardeene, your heart and wisdom feed the soul. I look forward to your next workshop for I am ready for my next level of growth."
--Arlene Indrycka, Marketing Specialist and spiritual counselor/energetic healer

"Working with Mardeene Mitchell has been one of the best experiences of my lifetime. Not only is she a wonderful writing coach, she was totally in tune with everything I was thinking and feeling. Our time together went well beyond the quality work -- getting a lot done -- and creating with her transcended into a spiritual experience.
Like most writers, I spent years writing and submitting without a breakthrough, eventually deciding to put my manuscripts in a drawer-including my favorite creation: Dr. Fuddle, a children's fantasy. As I closed that drawer, I believed deep in my heart that someday a very special person would rescue Dr. Fuddle from his cramped, dark quarters, freeing him to fulfill his musical mission. Five years later, a mutual friend said, 'Warren, you need to take your writing to Mardeene!' When I heard her name, I felt she was the one. After she read all of my manuscripts, I was so glad she said prophetically that the Dr. Fuddle story was the one that would launch my career. I hired her to help me accomplish the work.
Then the biggest break of all resulted from Mardeene's sensational, informative Write-the-World conference in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2010. With her encouragement, I pitched Dr. Fuddle's story to literary manager and film producer Dr. Kenneth Atchity from L.A., who was the keynote speaker. He gave me a contract to sign for a multi-level book/movie development franchise deal, starting with Dr. Fuddle!
I whole-heartedly recommend working with Mardeene and attending her conferences--it's a must for every writer."

"Mardeene's consummate gift of portraying in a photograph the essence of a person served me well for my book photo. I was so grateful that I had her wonderful photo to take with me on a 13-city tour when The Family Patterns Workbook became a national bestseller after being on the Oprah show. A number of reporters and photographers from magazines and newspapers remarked on the unusual quality of her work. I believe that Mardeene's unique combination of vocational expertise in photography, writing, business, p.r. and psychospiritual insight equip her to offer a penetrating and affirming perspective on humanity through her words and images."
